Sheep will not download in Windows 7 64 bit

At least from what I can tell, Electric Sheep cannot download any sheep at all. The program itself installs without any problems into the default location, and I have the sheep set to download into a folder on the desktop. Into that folder the program will put a jpeg, mpeg, and xml folder, and in the xml folder a file is created called "list". That's where it ends. Leaving the program on default settings+saving sheep to the hard drive, nothing is put into the other two folders at all even after pressing "Run".

The strange thing is, this program has worked before on the same system, though it was v2.16c. Since it had been crashing a ton at the time, I deleted it, and have since then re-installed with this new problem. Even trying to go back and install v2.16c again I cannot download anything.

I think the problem has to do with the fact that when I press F2, the downloads stop all stop at no more than 10%. Across the top is the message "The server is not known yet", and that does not change. I can leave it overnight and it won't download a byte.

I also had issues downloading the original program from the website. Seemed to be the same thing; several hundred kb is downloaded then it stops. I basically had to start/stop the download until it was finished.

I've tried it with Windows Firewall disabled as well. Looked into my Linksys router and port 8080(Is this the correct one?) is not being blocked either.

Sorry for the wall of text, I've been digging for a fix for while now and have come up empty-handed while browsing the forums and FAQ's. Thanks for any and all help you guys can give me!

I haven't heard anything like

I haven't heard anything like that.  I would guess there's something wrong with your internet connection since the two servers where you download the installer and the sheep are completely different, so if you had a problem doing both then it's probably not a server issue. I am pretty sure other people with Windows 7/64 haven't had a problem.  The only thing unusual about your setup is that you set it to go to the Desktop.  You might want to let it keep the content in its default location.  Seems like a longshot but it's all I can think of.  I would also recommend trying to download large files from other web sites and seeing how that works.

Saving it to the desktop was

Saving it to the desktop was temporary, just easier to get to while playing with it.

I've looked into it some more and I think you're right about the internet thing. Because my ISP is wireless broadband, and the stream of traffic can be spotty at times, the HTTP may be getting interupted and unable to restart. It is strange that it worked before, though. I guess I'll have to wait until I can torrent them again.

Anyway, thanks for the help and great program!
