better resolution

I just dl'd electric sheep and installed it on a powerful pc. Resolution is 1200x1024. I notice that the image quality could be a lot better. Is it always slightly blurry when it is maximized full screen? I even notice slight pixelation.

+1 request for 720p sheep

Any new/old 720p torrents available?

No one seems to be seeding the previously mentioned 9GB torrent.

Thanks!

Any new high rez love?

Hey!

Any fresh torrent links for 720p? Any updates about official releases? I would pay for a high rez version.

Cheers

The torrent still works. I

The torrent still works. I could transfer it to you (9gb) if you have somewhere I can put it.

Torrent

I still seed this every now and then. It has some peers. The files could be converted with ffmpeg to work.

heres an info link so you dont have to search for too long

note* dvd's can be played in bluray player, but a bluray disk cannont be played in a dvd player.

most of the time it is played in a 1080p resolution if your tv handels that. To make it clear, consider the resolution of the Wii, at most it plays 480p.

Id love some better

Id love some better resulution sheep!  Torrent seems to be dead..

Anyone have any HD server?

Possible new server HD 720 and up

Howdie all, newbie to world of designer fractals :) anyway, will cut a story short, i love the Sheep (fractals) but considering the age/use of the source im really suprised that very few sheep can be found that are anything close to HD. So a proposition. I have available a VPS server, little use, unlimited bandwidth, ffmpeg, etc.Firstly would this be of use? also what time/setup would be needed for the server? also would people be willing to pay a small fee for time, etc? Even though i have unlimited download bandwidth my storage is however only 50gigs. Probably not suitable, but throwing it out there all the same! :)

(Also this seems relivant to the thread, however if there is positive support, may start a new thread and get overall views, also please let me know if im stepping on toes! dont wish to do that but noticed people crying out for a progressive solution.)

Torrent

Re-seeding for a while if anyone is interested. See below.

please re seed

please re seed

I'm on a wicked fast

I'm on a wicked fast connection so I'm well up for seeding this. Need more seeds to get it in th first place though...I'll just leave it running and hope for the best.

More than happy.

I am more than happy with the resolution.

What is the Maximum Resolution I can get for free?????

Sounds amazing to get better than HD resolution for free!?!??!?!??!?!??!?!?!??!?!??? It should be anyways ;) I'm looking for at least 2560 x 1600 resolution in sheep :) So I'm wondering what I have it's super fast and in standard mode......... But I want to confirm it's going to be at least 2560 x 1600 resolution.... No offense..... ;) Thanks again for a really nice thing to look at when I have free time and when I am sleeping for the mice and moths ;) :):):) !!!

Why don't you simply set the

Why don't you simply set the FPS to 60? It goes faster and looks like in bigger resolution ;)

That is a giant resolution,

That is a giant resolution, too big.

720p sheep

Hurray I made a torrent. 9gigs of sheep. http://www.douglasaden.com/720p%20electric%20sheep.torrent I will try to keep seeding for a while.

I have been trying to download this for months and havent gotten very far! i will seed it if i ever get it downloaded!!!

re: torrent

Many thanks - am currently downloading and will seed after. Do I copy the mpg files into the \mpg folder?

Any aditional steps required?

I know you posted this a long

I know you posted this a long time ago, but if you get seeding again, I'll download then seed for a bit too :)

MU

Could you upload them on megaupload.. It will be far faster as a torrent :)

If a new hight resolution

If a new hight resolution farm (even using old version) is set up, count me in.

High Resolution

I have 9 gigs of 720p sheep and edges from Denaje. I don't know if the new version of E-Sheep will still play them (.mpg), but I could try and set up a torrent if people are interested.

I would be very interested in

I would be very interested in a torrent of 720p sheep. Even if they are not compatible with the screensaver, I'd enjoy just watching them play individually.

I participated on denaje, and

I participated on denaje, and I would join a new high resolution farm.

I already though of bouiling my own, but I lack knowledge and time.

High resolution server

There used to be a high res server @ http://denaje.gotdns.com He dropped out though due to lack of free time. Those sheep were "MPEG2 Video 1280x720 30.00fps 9000Kbps" according to mediaplayerclassic. It was dissapointing when they shut down.

follow up

albeit I have a lot more to learn about this I am interested in possibly hosting or serving out the content. I have a large pipeline to the internet and can build up a pc, in fact I'd love to. Let me search the forums to get more info and see how I can start serving up some content.

*also I didn't mean to imply that the software should be free for better resolution or to support the creators.

the 2.7 clients are not

the 2.7 clients are not compatible with the open source server.

you can do it yourself

You can set up a new server supporting high resolution rendering. The source code is out there. You'll need huge computing power to keep producing those high resolution sheep. That's why we need many sheep screensavers to join us.
If you have enough server bandwidth and people interested in those sheep, you can "fork" a new generation. But IMHO, the current sheep generation is good enough.

i agree

There is a blu-ray dvd you can buy, but there isn't a high resolution application. Correct?

Semantics

"Blu-Ray" precludes it being a "DVD". It's either a DVD or Blu-Ray; it can't be both.

right, high resolution is for

right, high resolution is for sale, not for free.  this is one way we have to make the project self supporting.

High resolution is available

High resolution is available on Blu Ray.

resolution

yea, for $900 bones

agree

I agree - the price for the bluray is beyond ridiculous - sure it may be feasible for businesses that plan on using it as an art installation but for the typical end user it is an expense that is unbearable ($900 for art on a non-physical medium thats computed from end-users cpu cycles...)

I bet you could make a lot more money if you offered the HD version of the art for $40 for personal use and have the business license to use it at $900

Also, what ever happened to talks of an HD sheep screensaver version? I think we would all gladly pay $20 for that

there's a demo version of the

there's a demo version of the blu ray for only $90 that's fine for personal use.

the premium versions are almost done.

what does blu ray comment mean?
